I'm funnily enough in the opposite.
I was completely opposed to the character mentioned before getting in now.
But if he ACTUALLY gets in? I'd like him solely on the merit that he absolutely demolished the people who are willing to die on this fake leak hill.
 
Ask yourself, do you REALLY think they'll show 9 fucking characters within 45 minutes? No, it'll be a few less
Anyway, this'll probably prove all the leaks false or at least one will be true.
Either way, why's it gotta be early again?
I gotta wake up a full 2-3 hours earlier than usual then figure out a way to wake my ass up so I can be fully hyped
 
TBH, I'm still on the fence regarding the Grinch Leak, but I do expect something huge considering how long the direct is.
 
There's also always a chance Sakurai will lie to us and there'll be an ultra hidden character somewhere in Smash Ultimate he won't reveal.
Like how Mr. Game & Watch was always the last character you unlocked in Melee
 
I'm still standing by my logic that Incineroar is absolutely out of place, does not make sense to include, and is genuinely a waste of a slot

Edit: What's with Smash and the last revealed character being the absolute hype killer

Wow like, I actually can't put into words how disrespectful some of that direct was hot damn

Sakurai had to have known that people saw that Isaac and Shadow's assist trophies weren't being shown, and he shows them as assist trophies at the very very end? And hell I actively hate Shantae but seeing her as the very last spirit shown was actually painful to watch.

That was actually a painful direct to sit through I'm not going to lie, that is a big hype killer if I've ever seen one

Also no offense but every singular DLC character that is obviously a ballot character is just going to make Inceneroar (and to some degree Piranha Plant) ook even worse as an inclusion. It's just gonna feel like holding them off to make you pay for them, at least I know that's absolutely going to be the case for me
 
claiming disrespect in this sort of situation is some top quality gamer entitlement if i've ever seen any lol

That's fair, but I still feel a lot of people, myself included, feel really led on for next to nothing for this last direct, I mean didn't they release that image that looks like the golden sun fighting system in smash?? Why even make the image if Isaac is just going to be an assist trophy?

My problem is they had the opportunity to deconfirm so many of these characters (that they absolutely had to know swarths of people were desperate for) ahead of time to make the impact a little less painful, but they just didn't at all? Even after Waluigi they still thought saving these "you're not in bye" until the very final direct was a good idea?

And yeah you're right, Shantae might be a DLC fighter in the end, but... again every notable ballot character in the DLC that people actually wanted makes Inceneroar look so so much worse. Again I have to say every single element of this game was suggesting the idea of "Everyone you want is here" in regards to the ballot. When you make it clear there's limited unique character space and you're working off of a publicly voted poll, making the last character one that was absolutely not in that ballot is what I mean when I say disrespectful.
 
Skull Kid is also still trapped in fucking limbo, he's still an Assist Trophy.
If Assist Trophies 100% can't become playable as a promotion, then the pickings for the last 5 characters are slim as shit.
 
It is actually funny though I really don't mind Piranha Plant because it does work as a joke character (And also just because I imagine basically a long tube with a mouth is so much easier to animate that it's on the level of some echoes) and I imagine the final smash being Petey Piranha was actually that they planned Petey as a boss and just shrugged and gave it to Piranha

I think the problem with so much of this information was just timing and execution, that's the best criticism I can give

I also just realized Undertale has a legitimate chance now since it's on Switch and all the DLC fighters will be brand new.
But really, I'm curious who the DLC fighters could be
Note that ALL FIVE Fighter packs come with:
A Brand new Stage, a Brand New Fighter, and new music.
That makes me think either every DLC character will be from a new franchise, but I'm pretty sure I could be wrong.

i don't like Geno that much but him being added would be pretty great for arguments on if he counts as another Mario character or not since he's owned by Square
 
Boy am I glad I didn't touch anything Smash for the past couple of months so my disappointment could be lessened, and I'm still disappointed-ish.

Like Story stuff is hype, especially fully or mostly voiced, and Mii fighter has a Lip costume, but that's it. Now give us a Panel de Pon game Nintendo.

Like stickers returning and replacing trophies is meh, like the story reason why there being called spirits now is cool and all, but I liked the care and attention trophies got as well as their descriptions, now that's gone and replaced with static artwork.
Incineroar is OK in my book, after Mimikyu I had no dog in the pokemon race I would have been fine with just about anyone. Piranha Plant I'm a little disappointed by, but not to much as I had zero expectations.

But the real reason I didn't touch anything smash related in months was because the smash community, nah the entire internet regarding smash, became so toxic I didn't want to touch or go anywhere near it for a long time. And I can imagine that still going to be the case for a while.
 
So, we get Piranha Plant by at least VERY LATE January, so I think if we get all characters by February 2020, I imagine we'll be getting one character every 3-ish months?
And I know we'll get one at E3 2019.
