The most important question still remains friends...is beowulf's standing hk a super kick?

The subtle art of slapping ones thigh as hard as you can.

I believe so, because on early animation streams for beowulf, persona (i believe) was drawing him both ways, facing forward and backwards, to see which would look better.

i still don't get why Beo's kick in this concept picture is whistling. I... random note... I:I

While it's a music note, it might signify that solid clap the foot makes when it contacts your face.

B-B-But when I kick some one it doesn't make music. Does it for you?! I mean... I can beat up people to the beat of the music that I'm listening to. I- I am over thinking this way too much. I'm just going to get drunk now. good night.

It's a bit of an in-joke. Shawn Michael's (probably one of the best wrestlers of all time) finisher is a superkick called "sweet chin music". He's the guy who basically pioneered using the move as a finisher and the whole "tuning up the band" stomping in the corner thing. Thus Beowulf in homage has a music note along with his super kick.

Its kinda random for sure. Michaels doesn't literally make music nor is he a musician, but thats sort of how wrestling is.

holy crap those were actual kicks to the face there. Hogan was bleeding from that shit. I:I are you sure this move was legal in the WWE?

Well actually Hogan had been blading earlier in the match. Wrestlers sometimes hide razors on themselves and cut themselves open when they are down to try to make matches more dramatic or violent (the ref will then pick up the razor blade and act like nothing happened).

..and the idea of a super kick is to hide you smacking some portion of your body (stomache, thigh, ass, what have you), while at the same time doing more of a pushing motion with your leg than an actual kick. It's basically a leg smack and a little slight of hand.

As for legit move bans..wwe doesn't like stuff that kids will imitate or stuff involving dropping a person on their head. A few are banned just cause too many people got injured. Piledrivers have ruined spines and careers alike. A super kick is pretty tame by comparison.

Like for example this would be right out.

oh okay. * takes another cup of booze * that's neat then. self infliction is always the best way to make things look cool.

Wrestlers are carneys man. It's all about money in the end of the day. Consequences and possible substance problems be damned.

oh yeah~ them jiggles. I know you be liking them ms chicken. I like how it looks like it going to jump out of his pants as he's falling. That's what i like to call a "Heavy Package".

So... i can't really .gif the second version of the move. I'm trying, but the stream recording messed up and like... repeated and quadrupled in time. Whenever I try to scrub through the archive to get to the proper point it never loads. I'll keep trying, but might have to wait until it's shown off. :/

Because dichotomies and contrasts are the spice of life.

I cant help the fact that im a baby.

dammit. Do you guys think we could bug LZ enough to make a voice-pack for Beowulf that's just a wrestling commentator narrating everything? I think I said this before but the more I see progress the more I want it...

If there was enough interest, they probably could.

"OUTTA NOWHERE" has gotta be a line if that's gonna be a thing

ah right, so rebel up is saturday always?

He'll probably just have a bunch of in-jokes in the same manner that eliza did.

I'm more of a luchawolf guy where we randomly have an entire voice pack in spanish.
