Pokemon

Kinda off-topic, but why the heck is the Super Training Minigame music so freaking amazing?!? Every time I hear it, I get super hyped to take down some silly looking balloons and increase my base stats LIKE A BOSS!!!

(Sorry, could not find a video with the music outside of LPs, but you can still hear it).

At 5:10.

Yeah, but they were like 5% encounter rate or something (It took forever to find 7 Eevees worthy of being on my Eeveelution team). Feels like Eevees have a higher encounter rate this time around.
I think it is higher rate, but its still not common enough to make a team right away.

it took me all day yesterday to get a female eevee because I wanted to get a sylveon. (I know eevee doesn't have to be female to become one but it looks like a girl and I am really weird about pokemon and gender appearances) low chance encounter and 12.5% chance of coming across female... not fun.

I know what you mean. I refused to have a male Ralts be my Gardevoir (mainly because I planned to name it Elizabeth because the long dress and outright "kick your ass with relentless magic" traits that and Gardevoir and Elizabeth (from SMT:Persona 3 and P4A) share is awesome to me). Good thing I caught a female one on my first try (and caught in a Premium Ball for cool aesthetics). I have a male Eevee with a nature that demotes Attack but promotes Speed. I'm assuming Sylveon won't use it's Attack stat for anything and will be fairly fast, so it's gonna be my future Sylveon. I guess instead of female, it'll be a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous male, lol.

If it was an Fairy/Electric type, I might have named it Kanji.

Wait, you caught eevees and then used them competitively? (Or at least semi kind of sort of competitively, considering it's an Eevee team.)
I mean heck, even if you just decided to ignore IV's, it would be easier to catch one and breed with a ditto...

On a side note, another pokemon that you can just find out in the wild: Zoroark, albeit pretty late in the game.

I hate whoever made this video. The left side audio flickers out for a few seconds and they made me think my headphones broke.

I was going to make a joke in which I used the word "cisgender", but I couldn't figure out a phrasing that made it clear I was being sarcastic. I would appreciate it if you laughed anyway.

I don't have the game yet, but I'm partial to Chesnaught and the female Meowstic.

Probably would have been easier, but I like my Pokeball aesthetics and was going for each one to be in a ball that fit it most.

Vaporeon=Dive Ball
Jolteon=Quick Ball
Flareon=Repeat Ball (although this ball doesn't really have to do with Fire outright, it still matches Flareon's color scheme)
Espeon=Heal Ball (same reason)
Glaceon=Premium Ball (white and clear, like ice. i dunno kinda got lazy on that one)
Umbreon=Dusk Ball
Leafeon=Nest Ball

Sylveon is in a Luxury Ball, because it seems like the new Fairy type is just getting all the love (there are even a couple of characters dedicated to researching it). Also because Heal Ball was already taken. This took a while to do, but damn does it look good when I send them out.

if you want a female one IT IS SUPER HARD TO GET! not only is eevee a not common encounter, but the chances of getting a female one are 12.5 percent! D: and no, I prolly will take my time getting a ralts. I hate having pokemon of the same type on my team. lack of type coverage never suits well with me. (eevee doesnt count because she's gonna be a sylveon)

.......I MISSED EEVEE DIDN'T I?
*Runs back to every previous route*
NO ONE TELL ME WHERE IT IS DAMNIT.

Favorites are Malamar because I love the concept of a Lovecraftian Pokemon and its typing is unique, and Greninja because it's become a total killing machine.

What Dark-type moves should I teach Greninja, by the way? I'm probably going to keep Extrasensory to ward off Fighters and Hydro Cannon and Surf for my water moves.

I have the same issue... things like a female machoke (don't even knof it it's possible aymore) or a male Fennekin (look at the evolutions) just feels... wrong.

I know that's discrimination, and overall stupid since genders doesn't affect the stats and i'm sorry for that, but i play for fan and like to feel that my team is coherend with my views and thoughts

I have a male Delphox. I just pretend that his glorious mustache had a malfunction and is now growing out of his ears.

considering it has pink hair you could name it..... Natsu.
Also I named my Sylveon Lucy.

I dont see a problem with it. I mean, you're free to choose whatever you want. if you want a pokemon that looks female and is female thats what you want. nobody should get mad at you over that,

now that ev training isn't the worst thing in the world anymore I'm definitely considering getting more serious

Yea, If there is a way to get reset bags easier end game, competitive will be a lot more user friendly.

Okay, so there's been a lot of silly trainer dialogue in the game so far, but I just had to post this one:

There's a veteran on Victory Road somewhere that mentions that "his body is ready".

Of course, after looking in every route I'd previously been in, the first thing I find in the next route from where I was is Eevee.

Is it possible to trade a Love Ball from HG/SS over to X/Y? If so, that would work perfectly for sylveon.
Ultra Ball would be a better umbreon pick, wouldn't it?

Just got past that guy. I also loved the ice gym leader, who begins the fight by saying in a roundabout way that he's going to be a pushover if you've trained a fire pokemon, and ends by saying in a roundabout way that ice pokemon suck. It would be hilarious if he came back in the inevitable pokemon Z as a water gym leader.

there are way more youngsters talking about shorts than usual in this game

coming from rance that's... disturbing

I just want a Gastly... been hoping maybe to get a horde of them where Haunter's are found. No luck. Guess I'll have to breed or something x.x.

I might try that.

Dusk for Umbreon because y'know, darkness and stuff. Color scheme would have worked better with Ultra, but eh.

time to find one of those ditto sluts

you pay hookers though, dittos taking all comers for the fun of it

Anyone else waste a whole day on Wonder Trade? I swear it's like the chat roulette of Pokemon. Blew hours going through mountains of starting route fodder looking for a Spritzee. I finally got one and a Tyrunt and Zoroark for my troubles . Now I just need to luck out with Skrelp and Froakie lol.

now i got curious... whad did you send in wonder trade?

now i got curious... whad did you send in wonder trade?

It doesn't really matter what you send in since whatever you recieve will be from a random person across the planet. I just threw something from around the first routes.

However if you mess around with wonder trade be prepared to see a bunch of people sending pokes from Route 2 and Santalune Forest before you see anything good.

Ditto is the ultimate buttslut.

Just like Bidoof is the ultimate HM slave.

Man there is like too much stuff to do in this game. I've put in over 30 hours and don't feel like I've accomplished anything yet. I've got a core of well trained Pokemon and I maxed their affection and Super Training but I still have a ton of badges to get. I keep coming down to the wire of when I beat a gym leader and when my pokemon get to the level where they'll stop listening to me.

Right now I'm trying to get Eevees. Though I don't know what traits constitute a good one.

isnt the level thing for trades only?

Full affection and training on your pokemon is great. They'll straight up avoid attacks, hit more criticals, and purge status effects from their system on their own. Also though those may all just be benefits from full affection only, I dunno. This is like the first Pokemon game I've played in 15-14 years, there's a ton of stuff I'm clueless on.

I meant when they will stop obeying you. I thought the gym leaders were referring to pokemon you get from trades would stop obeying you.
