Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

I can do that because they've all but said it isn't a legitimate SMTxFE.
 
Then they need to give the west a new name for it so they can stop advertising it as SMTxFE. Japan got a revised name right after the last reveal, though that's still a bit of a mouthful. An event like E3 would have been a good time to reveal a new name for us.

my guess is that they might think people would be even more mad if they straight up changed it.
 
they probably just wanna hold us off with DAN so then we don't get overhyped for Persona 5.

Game doesn't look so bad. Feels, gameplay-wise, like Persona 4 with Nocturne elements and dungeons with some actual thought put into them :/

Music force is OP as hell, trust me I'm a Rise main in Ultimax

Any mention of real dungeons or are we procedural corridors? Anything setting battles apart from just being standard fare?

they did show off a cool multi-level area exploration with a giant maid outfit, so I assume it is dungeons.

I don't think that, I was just curious and wanted to see examples. I see how my last post could be interpreted as being defensive but I'm just intrigued by the idea that people think variety is inherently bad, didn't mean to come off like that.

From the set tone thus far I kind of doubt that will happen, but FE used to incorporate the horrors of war as a theme and Megaten can reach grimdark, so who knows. So far I can't imagine it going much beyond P4 "dark".

Honestly I'm not so much worried about the tone as the gameplay, if it manages to actually offer a unique and fun experience I can put up with not personally liking the aesthetics or tone, but if it's ultimately more of the same things we've been getting I don't think it will be worth the time.

We've already seen the Megaten staple of "destroyed city with weird lines through the buildings" in a trailer, so I'm pretty sure it's going to pull so slick shit.

I kind of assumed the destroyed city was more of an alternate dimension like the recent Persona dungeons. I'm not exactly sure why I assumed that though, been a while since I watched the trailer.

Also, thanks for linking the recorded stream, will give it a watch when I have time.
 
As someone who was in Shibuya 109 about half a year ago I can confirm that is exactly what the Men's tower looks like on the inside.

I will admit making "alternate" versions of our favorite characters who don't retain the personalities that we fell in love with is pretty fucking stupid.

Like, Chrom advising you in combat because he's a goddamned general would make too much sense, right?

Nothing like having the Demi-Fiend casually stroll into your game, be the hardest fight in the whole series, and only play the basic encounter music from his game.
