Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

I was attempting to make a joke, and lampshaded the joke by outright admitting how much of a stretch it was. I spelled the joke out here. I know that P4A had P3 characters advertised for it.

Great, now the worst character in the game can also have my favorite hair color to ruin just like everything else she touches.

Yukiko best. The blonde looks horrible on her though. She is better as a natural black hair beauty. Blonde alt would work better on someone like Rise. Wonder how flexible the hair color options are. Hopefully it's not just a few options.

Considering 2/3 of those characters actually had arcs that went places, yes.
Also, Mitsuo was awesome because of his dungeon theme alone.
I just don't like her since her social link is the worst and she basically ends up back where she started so everything you did with her was for nothing. Also, I hate the "doesn't know she can't cook good at all" trope. Like, to death
I hate it so much.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but apparently each duo has their own unique choreography combinations so example if a song is where the main character is Yosuke then the dancer interactions would differ if you picked Yu as a support instead of Chie. This is good to hear since I don't have to see the same dance everytime I pick a specific song regardless who I pick.
 
P4 Dance Dub trailer
The original dub voices are still slowly dropping off. Think only ones left are Yosuke, Yukiko, Nanako, and Yu. Shame no dual audio again, but expected.
 
I knew they sounded weird. That's disappointing, they all had really decent performances.
 
Just thought it was interesting to point out since this trailer is all old info. In comparison I believe all the original JPN VA for at least the IT are still in the roles. At least it's not the Danganronpa Anime dub where all the game dub VA cast was replaced except for the main protagonist.

New dub Rise sounds worse to me then Rie Kugimiya. At least Laura had some charisma in her voice to fit the character. New Rise sounds too plain for an energetic idol character. Teddie sounds horrible regardless of language because by design he is supposed to be an annoying mascot.

that's what makes it so bad! its not that she didn't want to stick around, it's that she COULDN'T.

I've always looked at DAN as a last hurrah for the P4 gang and even little things like this just leave me feeling depressed.

only Yukiko can stand eternal as the last champion of the original dub
 
I really dislike Teddie's new voice. I liked the old one, never found it annoying, actually. It definitely treaded a thin line, but it was never a problem.

I would have flipped a table if they changed Yosuke's voice. That's one of my favorite performances, for some reason.
 
It's because Yuri Lowenthal is god and all he voices are sacred.
 
I would be 100% fine with SMTxFE if they just showed the Demi-Fiend. Like, legit, I would just forgive the moniker if we HAD SOMETHING FROM SMT ASIDE FROM THE PSEUDO PRESS TURN SYSTEM! D:

I get that this is what's popular atm for it, especially in japan maybe? I just want something SMT-related. I'll ignore Zombie Chrom (actually like this, thinks it fits his clone-ness) and singing Tiki.

makes me wonder what they'll do with Lynn.
 
I'm sorry! But when the initial advertisement was as SMT x FE and now they're just trying to brush that under the rug, it bugs me. I guess its like the first persona, which lacked the SMT moniker as well. Whatever, as long as Jack Frost or the demons at least appear in some regard, I'll be happy (probably be happy either way, but I feel the need to complain right now D:)
 
I don't think they're so much as trying to sweep it under the rug as they are trying to ease people into this different project instead of outright saying they canned what they originally were gonna do and piss more people off.

I can understand that. I suppose I should calm down a bit and take it at face value. I'm still quite peeved at it. But I'm really hoping it can still win me over. That FE cutscene art style is still freaking gorgeous to look at. Wish the cutscenes were CG in the style, and not just animated. Gives more to the charm.
 
Here's the trailer by the way.
I already vented my feelings about it in the E3 thread but the tl;dr version is that I recognize my initial reaction to the first trailer was somewhat unfounded but this new trailer is telling me that whatever the final vision for this game turns out to be; it's not showing any signs of being an SMT game thematically or gameplay wise. Maybe I'll get surprised but I'm really doubting it at this point. This is the second major trailer and no more gameplay is being shown and instead it's just a PV for the voice talent and character designs. I can't remember the last SMT game trailer that didn't show off it's gameplay because that's one of the biggest selling points of any SMT game. And the small tease of it we got in the last GIR#FE trailer doesn't tell us anything significant.

I understand that this IP has evolved into something different than what any of us could have anticipated. And I get the feeling that neither Atlus nor Intelligent Systems really knew what to do with this title when they originally pitched it. What it's becoming now isn't something I feel I'll be interested in anymore.

Edit: Just thought about it, if they had reversed the order of the trailers it would give a better effect. The new one shows off the characters and the Fire Emblem connections better than the first one. The first trailer gives us some taste of the in-game engine during battles and roaming sequences.
