ROMANCE IS FOR THE WEAK.

Generally that's how I regard romance stories, haha. A strong character can be in love, but honestly everything is so oversaturated with utterly contrived love stories that trying to shoehorn characters into it just irritates me to no end. Give me a strong friendship any day, but keep the shippy stuff out of it.

Nice to see other people here share my general distaste for romantic plots. Most of the time I see them done, one of the two characters involved ends up behaving in a rather out of character manner just for the sake of really sappy love. I'd rather the relationship be done off screen or off panel than see the drama unfold.

Anyway back on topic, I believe that since D.Violet's basically a superhero, comics of her exist somewhere in the Skullgirls-verse and that Filia and Aeon both own an issue or two.

Hum. I always thought it was soft porn.

Well, it is an oversaturated genre, so you have to manke an effort to find the good stuff among all the junk.:PUN:

You know, just like porn.

D. Violet has a comic? What is the rating?

Because it probably has porn in it.

D. Violet would have two brands of comics. The risqué, colourful and flashy adventures would be a solid Teen rating like a standard Ecchi Manga, but then, similar to Marvel's Max Line there would be darker noire stories--unrestricted in the darker bits of her travels, sexuality, and violence.

I'm thinking you might have something on your mind, hon.

Anyway, your standard American superhero comic is pretty notorious for having ridiculously sexualized women in it anyway, and those generally aren't touted as NSFW or pornographic unless they're really, really explicit. So my bet's that she'd just a T for Teen (or equivalent) rating slapped on and call it a day.

Unless we consider that the game takes place in what seems to be essentially equivalent to the 1940s or so culturally, at which point comics were sanitized and censored to hell and back. So there's also that angle to consider. Perhaps her comic-verse counterpart isn't quite as... explicit in costume and behavior.

Yeah, I do.

Anyway, in spite of official ratings you could bet that there is plenty of Doujins and Tijuana Bibles (ilegal or not) about her. And she doesn't mind it at all.

The first Silk Specter had some pretty raunchy comics starring her though. I'd wager Violet would take some influence from her.

When's D. Violet graphic novel by Alan Moore?:PUN:

I always think that Annie:Symphony of Some Starbullshit is like Dragon Ball Z meets Sailor Moon Meets Fist of the North Star.

Personally I imagine it being like He-Man. Crappy stiff animation, morals at the end of every episode, and no actual violence because they don't want to get in trouble with parents.

I remember Alex Ahad saying that The Annie of the Stars Show would be like the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, though he may have been making a joke.

He did say that it was like that, but only for example's sake: The Annie of the Stars Show has live action segments and cartoon segments in it, similar to said show.

The difference being that it is Annie playing Annie and not Captain Lou Albano playing Annie. P:

Swing your arms from side to side,
Come on, it's time to go!
Ask when Annie is!
Take one step, and then again,
Shout loudly WHENS ANNIE, all together now!

Parasites. I like to think that they can do specific things when finding a host.I also like to believe that they can choose to wipe someone's memory if they wish to.

So I personally think that the antagonist for the Annie of the Stars Tv show is A lot like Skeletor from he man, but he is immortal (like Annie), an actual villain, is Annie's number one enemy (aside from youknowwho), *tries* to change his voice every 2 seasons of the show, and has to speak like goddamn Skeletor due to his curse. His name? It's Marrowyaga.

I have this thing stuck in my mind that Annie's show villain is Zurg. Or something like Zurg. A-Z. Ya know? Zurg.

In fact I actully think that Marrowyaga sounds like Skeletor Joel

I was reading the thread about alternate endings and Balder & Osmiumsmith made a note of how it would be cool to see Christmas and Brain Drain's relationship not be a cheesy one. So that lead me to this.

I'm updating my old head canon of BD.

Initially I stated that I felt it would be interesting if BD had lots of potential before the process, but was ultimately a bit of a slacker and loser. He mostly used his tricks to get by and for personal gain, but never really made anything of himself till after the accident. Post-accident BD became who he wanted to be; powerful, sophisticated, dangerous. His artificial voice, physique and mannerisms were a far cry from his past self.

I like the idea that he met Christmas long before his transformation and was awed by her skill and her being a bit of a badass. He would constantly try to court her with his little tricks that he had learned, but nothing could impress a woman of her stature. This became his obsession and the drive behind his ambition. As he bettered himself, he began to appreciate literature and so much more, though he still had limitations that bothered him intensely. Opportunity struck when he applied for the psychic soldier program. Becoming a power psychic with untapped potential and a well-read warrior would get the lovely Christine's attention. It had to.

Fast forward past the accident. He re-encounters Christine and through the growth of his genuine journey they become close. While they enjoy each other's company, the mutual attraction and respect is borne from their attention to detail, tenacity, ruthlessness, passion to push past the limits of their respective agencies and selves. Through Christine's surgical skill and his own "physical evolution", BD gains an appreciation for experimentation.

Her death affected BD, it did not make him violently bitter and cold to the world, his current unsavory qualities were present. He was indeed deeply hurt and missed Christine, but rather, it made his existing drives stronger. To remember her tenacity and push through with strength, he would honour her, and ensure that such a creature that ended her life, would never rob the world of a fantastic talent and brilliant mind. "Victory at any cost, damn the consequences" -- she taught him that and it burned in his heart from their first meeting till their last.

Pushing to be the dark hero the world needed, to be an unparalleled force of advancement.

Brain Drain sees his actions as necessary in a world that periodically falls to mystical horrors and war, thus, in his mind, an iron fist is needed for order and for others to prosper...to reach their....his level. Love and the loss of it, did not make him evil. "Evil" is but a laughable concept to him. There are goals. With them proponents and opponents. The opponents must be swayed to his dream, or be crushed. He and Christine shared joy and knew of its power, but they were realistic and focused on their goals. Some may call them ruthless, but they shared a dream, and it was beautiful.

Last paragraph really hits home. I think Brain Drain is interesting enough to work as a relatively superficial villain but, more than that, I agree the character would be at his best as a pragmatic, well intentioned extremist that takes the burden of the truly hard decisions. And kind of an asshole, probably due to not having a body of flesh and bone.

With the chimera making, classical music while working and playing science fair with X-Mas, B.D. sure hogs all my headcanon credits. :3

Brain Drain really took over this thread.

Man, I wish we were writers for Lab Zero.

Can we just hire this man for BD's eventual/hypothetical story mode?

GRENDEL HEAD CANON
After the incident that forced Beowulf to retire, Grendel received a large bionic arm to replace the one he had lost. Now depressed and misguided, Grendel seeks out unjustified vengeance against the one who had killed his Mother. To this day Grendel wears his Mother's skull as a helmet when in battle, as is customary in Gigan Warrior tradition.

Salty rematch with the bionic monster? I dig it.

I think that the villain would be a female, what with the show basically being anti-Skullgirl propaganda and all. Would still probably sound like a female Skeletor, though.

Is the arm made out of the rest of his mother? :PUN:

D.Violet Head Canon

Deep Violet has a very positive look in regards to sex. Not only about the immediate fleshy pleasures that it can bring but also in regards to the overall effects in people's lives concerning romance, mental health, etc. Besides her direct crime fighting stick she also plays the role of sexuaal therapist to people she thinks are in need of help.

Ms. Victoria Head Canon

While she is not a stranger to sex, Ms. Victoria is more conservative and shy about it than the average person.

Fukua Head Canon

Fukua also likes sex besides violence, and a lot. She is a sadomasochist (ranged soul is S the close ranged is a M). But instead of thinking it something as people should enjoy, instead she thrives in shaming people with it.

"Oh, you like to eat my boot don't you?"
"Ah, so you like to hurt girls, big man."

Unecessary to say, both Victoria and Violet really hate this, as if they needed more reasons to be enemies with Fukua beyond her being a regular murderous psycho.

^I approve of all this. D.Violet could be a very positive sex-teaching character.
Yeah tbh that's my headcanon for her too, plus that'll would of been a great mix up on the usual promiscuous superhero character.

It would also be interesting to see how it would be the dynamic between Victoria and Violet considering that they share the same body. They have an arrangement of what can be done? They are cool with whatever it is done since one conscience is asleep? Or they don't care?

I like to imagine that with time they have positive effects on each other. Violet was walking the dangerous: "sex is everything, if you are not doing it you are wasting your life" path (like most magazines tell you) and Victoria had a lot of: "sex is evil but I am envious of people who do it".

I thought that their deal was the same as Batman.
