I love spiral assist too much for such a strategy but good points all around.

.....I can't believe I havn't tried this yet, but can taunts be used as assist?
OMG
Yesterday i was thinking the same thing :)

I may have to learn this character now, Just for the Dio palette.

From what I understand that has overall been the internet's reaction to that pallete.

Just tried her for the first time. Really impressed with all the references to Egyptian mythology in her moveset. I'll admit I didn't even pick up on Apep/Apophis chasing Ra's boat in her s. HK or the Geb / Nut thing with her recovery until I watched the video where mike pointed it out, though I subconsciously recognized that (the geb/nut) as being SOMETHING in Egyptian mythology. I'm wondering if her c. HK is supposed to be Sobek or Ammit, though.

Gameplay wise, I really don't have any insight to give that would be useful that anybody hasn't already said, since compared to everybody else I have no idea what I'm doing. I did notice that you can combo off of her level 3, though, which caught my attention. Said super reminds me a lot of Vanillia Ice's stuff, though that might just be me playing too much HD ver the past few days. Anyways, I like how she feel's, and I was able to string various different basic combos, so that's nice.

Lastly, I see a lot of people referencing Sekhmet assists, but i'm not quite sure how that's even possible, since as I recall from trying her out the transformation to sekhmet isn't an actual attack. Or maybe it was and I forgot already because it's 5 in the morning.

EDIT:
Actually, something else I'm not clear on: One of the times I preformed her sekhmet super, the screen got way dark like the lights went out on the stage, but that only happened once. What's up with that?

Dio Pallete? I ran through all of her color's and I didn't notice that. Which one is it? Also, I want to say (unless it exists and I missed that too) that i'm pretty suprised she doesn't have a zasalamel one.

Not Jotaro in Casino.
Nor have I ever noticed this. Is he a rotating background character or is he always there?

>:)
Seeing this really bums me out, she looks like she'd be great. Like "What if Double's moveset was 100% original?"

Sehkmet is a normal attack input. Just do it at custom assist and she pops out.

You described the level 5 version of the move. You get it after taunting. Unless you are playing an older build or something

The dio pallete isn't in the main builds yet but was on the salty stream a few days ago (so it'll be in soon.)

Jotaro is part of the painted portion of the casino stage so he is always there.

Ah, I was wondering what her taunt did. Not a fan of the recent trend of "every character get's a functional taunt" we see with her and big band, maybe i'm just too much of a casual and can't do them, but it seems like a really complex input for something that doesn't need to be that complex.

Also, saw pictures of the DIO pallete. I think I actually saw some screens of it before, but I didn't put two and two together since people in this thread were posting images of Phantom Blood Dio, not SC DIO. In any case it looks really nice.

It being a complex input is sort of the point. You never accidentally get a taunt, and it's always a throwback to a Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers input.

And with the taunt you get the tiny bonus of having some vampire touch for one combo where Sekhmet is used, it not enough to force it into a gimmick, but it's still nice to have.

The whole point of taunts having complex inputs is to prevent shitty people from being able to do them. Any asshole can mash the start button.

A solo characters getting life back seems like fun.

Of course, I meant more in terms of a different way to "unlock" the upgraded version of the super vs using the taunt that has more to do with actually doing stuff in the match vs. inputting a certain sequence; such as having to successfully land all 3 versions of brass knuckles before you get to use TUBA TUBA and then the count resets and you'd have to land all 3 types of brass knuckles again. In my mind that's both more interesting, more reliant on actual player action and skill vs being able to remember and input the complicated input.

In any case, this is a discussion that really isn't on topic, nor am i really in any place to comment on since I know that eliza previously had more mechanics like I am mentioning that had to be axed for various technical reasons, and that I am by no means a good fighting game player.

In short, though i'd like to think that my opinions have some merit, I really don't know what i'm talking about compared to all of you, and i'm sure that mike and everybody else working on the game considered other methods and found this one to be best.

---

Anyways, back in regards to eliza and how she plays now/will play: Is being able to combo off of her level 3 super so easily something that's unique to her, or have I just never realized it's easy to do so with other high cost supers in the game?

Nah, Parasoul, Bella, Big Band, Squigly, Painwheel, and to a lesser extent Filia and Fortune can all do it. I think only Val, Double, and Peacock can't.

Oh, well I pretty much only play val and double so that explains that.

Double can only Car Super after Lv3 if you didn't use up your OTG

Very unlikely, but you think a Lv5 ala Dark Phoenix with Sekhmet draining health instead of super meter will be too op?

After playing some more with eliza, i noticed that you cant really grab sekhmet after blocking her sHP overhead, as she can instantly go for a jMP and get a huge undizzy bonus on top of a free sekhmet starter. So dont mash grab her, you MUST block...or daisy pusher i guess.

Hm? If she doesn't space it far out, it is completely punishable by throw. As is everything else that isn't j.HP.

Confirmed, I'm an asshole and I'll mash the start button for less than 15 frames per mash so that the "Player 1 Pause" thing keeps coming up and hopefully messes my opponent up while he's trying to do a combo on me

That makes sense if Taunts are actually taunting. Peacock's, okay.
But BigBand? Does anyone feel taunted by that thing? It's pretty much just a powerup special.

But don't you taunt for the spikeballs?

I don't really think spikeballs are that good. They mess up my full screen conversion off Brass assist.

Oh.

You use brass balls instead.

True. Peacock's is like calling you out while BB's is more like lemme just play my bagpipes real quick.

So are Eliza's sekmeht assists going to stick with the whole hyper armor but costs meter to use thingie? Looks like we got some double lariat like action going on here with meter instead of life.

Well, the main difference is that eliza is pretty vulnerable during the startup of those moves before Sekmet comes out.

PLZ STOP! WHY DOES EVERYBODY LIKE MY CRAP? :C

*Ninja hurt himself out of Confusion.*
I don't like it if that makes you feel better <3

OK, I think Eliza now has the easiest double snap combo. Even easier than Fukua.

c.mk, c.hp ad infinitum will un-combo. If you get an awkward set up far-ish from the corner, do a c.hp xx albus dive to get a good high bounce.

Yup. That's what I've been doing. Good tip on the dive kick tho, never thought of that.

:3.... yay, wait a minute.... are you saying that I'm not good enough for you Jeffry?! How could you? And after all we have been through together.
